So yesterday, I was published in 3 different places all in one day– A RECORD!!!… For me, that is. And so I want to share all of them with you here.
First off, my award-winning story, “The Last Time She Saw Her Brother” was published in the amazing The Box Under the Bed Anthology. It’s only 99 cents for the Kindle and has been climbing up the list of popularity quickly–and this is just the second day since it has been published (I repeat: second)! If you want to look more into it, check it out right here. You won’t want to miss it!
Second, three of my poems–“Bibliography”, “Librarians”, and “Revelation 12”–have been published by Foliate Oak and can be located right here. What was exciting for me about this was that I sent the maximum number of poems possible to send to Foliate Oak, and every single poem was accepted. That’s a first for me!
Lastly, I have been published for the third time in the amazing The Asexual. This is one of those literary journals I absolutely love and never want to stop contributing to. Check out my latest poem, “When You Say ‘Body’, I Say”, right here.
That’s all I want to say for now, except… WOW. Three publications in one day is pretty incredible!
First off, I won 4th place in a writing contest! It’s super-exciting for sure!!! Check out the Contest winners here: https://danalatorre.com/2017/08/15/here-are-you-winners-dan-alatorres-word-weaver-writing-contest-oct-2017/ It’s amazing!! My winning piece will be featured on their site soon, so stay tuned for the link to be posted on the Works page and here on the blog.
I’m also announcing that I’m currently working on two major projects (aka novels) and, starting September, I may write a little about how those ones are going. One of them is a YA Fantasy novel (haha, shocker, right?) and the other is a Young Adult Coming-of-Age novel. Both are very different in a ton of ways, and that will be shared here eventually.
Last thing: Have you checked out the new magazine, Seshat? If you haven’t, click the link I’ve provided and check it out! Submissions have begun to slow down, but we’re still open to pieces in case you have something YOU want to share through our magazine! The magazine’s deadline is September 1, 2017, and the official release date is September 15, 2017. We still have some room to include your pieces!
That’s just about all I wanted to share right now. Have a great day, everyone, and enjoy these last days of summer!
I haven’t updated in a while, and I sincerely apologize for that. With college classes drawing to an end, I had difficulty even finding the time to write! However, I’m back now with news–both good and bad ones.
As is customary, I’ll begin with the good news. I have a link with my published works up which you can view here.
Not as exciting as this next bit:
I GOT 5TH PLACE IN A CONTEST!!!
Yes, I put it as a link, because it truly is exciting news! I’m more than honored to have received a writing award because I truly did not expect it. My piece will be featured on the website next Saturday, and I will be placing the link through my list of published works and–hopefully–through a blog post as well. Let’s hope!
Now I said there was bad news…
Unfortunately my radio show, The Maddie Show, will be temporarily cancelled until further notice. As of now, I’m not sure whether or not it will be permanently cancelled or temporarily cancelled. I’ll let you know as time moves on.
That’s all the time I have for now. Hope everyone is doing well!
